Time Of The Season

written by Rod Argent

produced by The Zombies

Ah, back to the sweet psychedelic ’60s for this one. The Zombies

were the first band founded by frontman/keyboardist/vocalist Rod

Argent—as a mere teenager of about 15—before 1969 brought

together the band known only by his surname. “Time Of The

Season” was The Zombies’ 1968 hit, off their album Odessey And Oracle (which is indeed spelled that way), coming a few years after and rivaling their ’64 kickoff hit She’s Not There.” It’s quite beautiful in its own little mellow lilt, I’ve always felt... don’t you think so?

Again, Happy Birthday (7-6!!) to Rod Argent, as I mentioned in the just previously created page for Hold Your Head Up” by Argent.

Have notes to add? Let me know!

Lyrics

It’s the time, of the season When love runs high In this time, give it to me easy And let me try with pleasured hands To take you in the sun to promised lands To show you every one It’s the time of the season For loving What’s your name? (what’s your name?) Who’s your daddy (who’s your daddy?) / (He rich) Is he rich like me? Has he taken (has he taken) Any time (any time) (To show) To show you what you need to live? Tell it to me slowly (tell you what?) I really want to know It’s the time of the season For loving x1 x1
